The Journal of AI and Humanities aims to contribute to the formation of a signaling environment that would potentially help unveil the specifics of relations between AI and humanities. The purpose of this position is to enhance our knowledge on how improvements in AI will expand humanities education and, at the same time, introduce humanistic concerns regarding AI advancement and its utilization. It is our mission to disseminate research findings at the intersection of these fields helping scholars, professionals, an d policymakers get greater insights into the issues.
Scope of the Journal
Interdisciplinary Research: We welcome submissions that integrate methodologies, theories, and perspectives from both AI and the humanities. This includes, but is not limited to, studies that apply AI techniques to humanities research and those that use humanities frameworks to examine AI.
AI and Cultural Heritage: Articles that explore the use of AI in preserving, analyzing, and interpreting cultural heritage artifacts, texts, and practices. This includes digital archiving, virtual reconstructions, and AI-driven analysis of historical and cultural data.
Computational Linguistics and Natural Language Processing: Research on AI applications in linguistics, including language modeling, text analysis, and machine translation. Studies that investigate the implications of these technologies for understanding human language and communication are particularly encouraged.
Digital Humanities: Contributions that utilize AI to advance digital humanities projects, such as text mining, digital mapping, and network analysis in historical, literary, and cultural studies.
Ethics and Philosophy of AI: Papers that address the ethical, philosophical, and societal implications of AI. This includes discussions on AI ethics, the impact of AI on human values and behavior, and the philosophical questions raised by intelligent systems.
AI in Arts and Media: Research examining the role of AI in creative practices and media production, including AI-generated art, music, literature, and film. We are interested in both theoretical and practical perspectives on how AI is transforming artistic expression.
Educational Applications of AI: Studies on the use of AI in education, particularly in humanities disciplines. This includes AI-driven educational tools, personalized learning systems, and the impact of AI on teaching and learning practices.
Critical AI Studies: Articles that critically examine AI technologies from a humanities perspective, including feminist, postcolonial, and critical race approaches to AI. We encourage submissions that interrogate power dynamics, biases, and the social impact of AI.
Human-Machine Interaction: Research on the interactions between humans and AI systems, including user experience, human-centered AI design, and the cultural and psychological effects of living and working with intelligent machines.
The Journal of AI and Humanities is committed to advancing scholarly discourse by publishing original research, comprehensive reviews, and thought-provoking essays. We strive to be a hub for innovative ideas and interdisciplinary collaborations, contributing to the ongoing conversation about the role of AI in society and its implications for human culture and knowledge.
